SEO Minion extension is now only for paying users. Which are the best and free alternatives?

A very popular SEO extension SEO Minion is changing its approach to users. Now you can use it only if you are a paying user of a service called Keywords Everywhere. I am not and will not be at least for noiw. What SEO extension should you use from now on?

As a long-time SEO Minion user, I was quite surprised by the unannounced change. The owner communicates it to users directly in the UI itself, see below.

I understand the side project’s promo strategy quite well, but if you have competitors in your segment with similar features for free, I’ll be quite curious to see how long it lasts. And that’s even though the price tag of Keywords Everywhere is pretty low for a general use. I have plenty of other paid sources for keyword data.

What are your alternatives in this situation and how are they better or worse?

I picked these five extensions which Iˇve been using or testing in the past years. All of them are multi functional just like SEO Minion.

• Ahrefs SEO ToolBar
• Detailed SEO extension
• Big Metrics SEO Plugin
• SEO Pro Extension
• SEO Pro Extension

• No other plugin can do everything that SEO Minion does.
• No other will directly show you if a URL is blocked in robots.txt.
• No other can preview the result in SERPs.

Ahrefs SEO Tool Bar has the most similar features. I’m sticking with it because it also shows the status code for a given URL, which other extensions except FandangoSEO Extension can’t do for an unknown reason. Plus I use Ahrefs metrics on daily basis.

The second best options is SEO Pro Extension IMHO.

What is a standalone replacement for the features that Ahrefs SEO Toolbar does not provide?

• The new SEO Minion feature for HTML/DOM content comparison is perfectly replaceable by the View Rendered Source.
• Hreflang tags could be checked by the old but still functional Hreflang Tag Checker.
• SERP Preview can de done by Just SERP Preview
